Yes, I decorate for Halloween in September

I love Fall, so I will admit that I decorate for Halloween the first of September. I try to mix it up & do something a little different every year, plus I never can remember what I have done the year before! With a 2 year old in the house everything has to be out of her reach! SO here are my fairly simple decorations for 2014 Halloween.

Burlap runner on Dining table, this is just a few yards from Hobby Lobby, folded in half & voila! I have a runner! Felt placemats that I think my MIL found at Dollar General, my glitter pumpkin from Walmart & Mercury Glass pumpkin candle holders that I use every year!

My mantle I took a step further this year, you know the mesh rolls, I cut into strips, tied with burlap ribbon & actually taped to my mantle. I came up with this plan after I found the fun ornament like Halloween pieces at Target! $3 ea. I think! My pumpkin is a soup tureen, it finds a new home every Fall. I love my fake pumpkins on the hearth too. I thought about painting, but I really love their "natural" look. Simple, but fun & nothing that can fall on the kids!

My new addition here is the pumpkin runner. I LOVE IT! I made the little frame, it has owl scrapbooking paper on it. A few years ago I was wondering what in the world everyone did with the holiday frames that I would see in the stores. I got the idea to put a picture from the currant holiday we were in & I put it out every year. It is fun to look back at previous years costumes. The kids love it.

New Halloween Tradition

I have decided to start this new blog, Growing Gregory Traditions, to help ME remember year to year fun things our family has done, great recipes & even how I decorate season to season! I seem to always take pictures, and then the following year the pictures of decorations cannot be found!

Hope that this will be a new tradition for us! Chicken Enchilada Ring made into a pumpkin shape! We had this with black beans for supper on Halloween night & Watched It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown before we went out Trick or Treating!
